Breathe, Move, Meditate.
In addition to the foundational practices of sitting, standing, and moving meditation, we will explore some of the self-healing techniques offered by the Reiki hand healing system, which Dan frequently uses during class in order to take students deeper into their meditation practice. Reiki is useful in identifying and eliminating blocks to the subtle body, increasing one's overall vitality, as well as helping to heal injuries.
Most yoga systems create an artificial divide between stillness and movement, or seated practice and asana, but if we can learn to practice these together it may be possible to cultivate and maintain a calmer state of mind in both modes. And from this interplay the deeper, more subtle states of yogic awareness may arise.
